In short: super easy.
1) Go to any item page (e.g. https://blokblok.io/catalog/sets/9331)
2) Click '+Suggest a new inventory line' button near Inventory section
3) An editor will open with two options:
3a) You can suggest an individual item and input parameters (quantity, colour if it's a part, notes, etc.)
3b) Bulk suggest inventory: just paste a list that follows the outlined format!
4) Suggestions go to review (shouldn't be long)

Sounds easy enough, will try this with a small set.

So I did my 1st upload and I'm pretty proud! FFB55Aspect of Glass
But I noticed some issues:
- The upload window dissappears when you click anywhere else on the screen, this is not a feature!
- Parts you don't know yet seem not to be accepted when transmitting! While I can understand this is creating issues when adding set specific parts (where Mega is huge) and printed parts as well. So it would be helpful if these would be uploaded too! And we can add the entry later?!
- I'm not sure what happens with parts that were listed already? Especially if they are wrong. Because finding them when new where added sounds pretty difficult, so maybe I should have asked to remove them 1st?
- Adding Minifigs is the same issue as with Missing Parts, I feel the issue is even stronger then with parts as often figs are just included in one Set. - · edited 26d agoShimkuOld GuardHere since the early days — one of BlokBlok's first members.AdminBlokBlok administrator.

To answer:
1) Clicking out – yup, do be annoying and fixing now
2) and 4) Very good point and I can see how it adds friction. I will redesign the uploader to process new items too now! I need to think on whether we also need a process to contribute info about new items simultaneously vs having to upload a list, wait for mod review, then separately suggest edits to each. Your comment also surfaced that single-line inventory suggestions also don't allow new item creation – I'll address it too
3) Yeah, so far it's sort of 'remove wrong ones first' and then 'suggest missing ones' or vice-versa. Bulk upload doesn't replace inventory but adds to it. I could include a little checkbox for 'replace inventory' for bulk upload - in that case we can auto-remove items and replace with uploaded inventory. Maybe can choose whether to remove everything or just figures or parts, etc.Good stuff – let me know if I addressed your points!

Yes, you answered everything!
Yeah, it would help a lot, when you upload a full list that you can remove the old one, if it's wrong or correct does not matter (as an option).
New Item Creation would help a lot! Sure we will have mistakes that create new items that we will need to fix and delete the item, I get it, but with the Mega approach of specialized bricks we get crazy otherwise. - 5N5N00P1Old GuardHere since the early days — one of BlokBlok's first members.
Maybe it would be good with a list upload to have a note about where it was coming from? From a website, from the instructions? Something like that.

Hey again @5N00P1 – just fixed the click out thing, and added new item acceptance to both single-line suggestions and bulk uploader. Should work, tested on my side!

OH, what to do with printed parts where you don't know the color? With an APG part with a print, this is ok, but what to do with a printed weapon, which is hard to identify when you only have the instructions.

@5N00P1 keep in mind that the 'replace inventory' feature is not there - it's a bit more involved so I will prob cook it tomorrow. If you upload the same list again it should (hopefully) skip items that are already there and just add new ones!
Re/ part printed part colour. If it has an explicit suffix in instructions (like APG) – that's the one, if not and it's a generic ID without colour indication – we should go with MUL and just mention print parameters in name. E.g. Weapon, Destiny: Blaster, Red, Flame Print or something along these lines. Naming convention is a bit shaky still (need to work on it), and I have no clue about Destiny so if I just spoke heresy about blasters – do forgive

I tried to update the list and it told me what was already in there, very convienient!
It has not, otherwise I would not have an issue. All the special parts have names based on the set. e.g. AS-FFFB55-03 and without any real knowledge from Destiny, I have no idea.

@5N00P1 Hmmmmmmmm. I reckon (and any name could be improved by the community in the long run):
AS-FFFB55-03 – 'Slope brick 45 2 x 1, Yellow Rightwards Print' (and AS-FFB55-05 would be 'Leftwards' then?) based on AM03019Slope 45 2 x 1.
AS-FFB55-01 – 'Weapon, Firearm: Destiny Lord of Wolves Shotgun'? A case where Mattel's website is useful – I got a ton of Halo figure and weapon namings from there having zero clue about Halo haha
AS-FFB55-12 – 'Outerwear: Destiny Ghost, Purple with Green Highlights'. Not sure about this one (is it even Ghost?). Category here is tricky for sure. Could put it Minifig:Outerwear, or Parts, Robot or spin out a Destiny-specific parts category like Halo has if there are enough of these piecesThe fun parts of archiving

@5N00P1 sorry it's been tedious, but you are trailblazing UX improvements here for the platform haha!
If a particular colour code is missing, suggest it in https://blokblok.io/catalog/colors. And if the item has no colour code like AS-FFFB55-03, etc. let's just use MUL (multicoloured) as colour

ok, nice thing, but I'm not sure how required it is?!
Currently we have some listings with wrong content, but later, this should only be partial listings. On top, the system checks against what is already there and will give you a delta and only update what is new.

Tried to upload a new list FFB56Goliath Tank Strike, I had two issues:
- The list had more then 200 entries. Is it possible to increase the length, so you can upload longer lists?
- I tried to add an items with an unknown color and got an error for this. As said set FFB56 the part is AM77792AWR, so AWR is an unknown color and so I was not able to upload my list.

Re/ Replace inventory – I think it's helpful to keep for now while there might be a bunch of sets with (partially) wrong inventory. Replacing parts and/or figs in one go is prob easier than fishing out wrong bits 1 by 1 for some
Re/ 200 limit – is 500 enough or 1k best?
Re/ colour – I'll build a flow to add colour (meantime you can do it via https://blokblok.io/contribute/new-colorUPD: all of the above built

What would help, if the upload could have a comment, so I can structure the upload file, but the comments will be ignored by the uploader.
